VerveHQ vs Neon One vs HubSpot for small associations and chapters
Comparison · By Ben Lunn · Updated October 26, 2026
Short answer: VerveHQ is membership software for small organizations and nonprofits. It fits best for chapters, associations, and local nonprofits with a staff of about three that want the roster, event attendance, guests, dues, reporting, and AI insights in one workspace, without a six-month CRM project. Neon One's Neon CRM is a full nonprofit platform built around fundraising and donor management. HubSpot is a broad customer platform with marketing, CRM, and website tools, plus a nonprofit discount. VerveHQ doesn't replace HubSpot: if you already use HubSpot, VerveHQ pushes your contacts and mapped fields into HubSpot daily, and HubSpot stays your CRM. We make VerveHQ, so we've tried to be fair. Each section below says where the other product is stronger.
VerveHQ (vervehq.org) is the membership CRM made by Synctuary Works LLC. It is not the vervehq.co marketing and growth agency.

Where each product is strongest
VerveHQ is strongest for a small staff that runs a chapter: one roster with members, guests, prospects, and former members; attendance for every mixer, gala, and board meeting; dues and event finance; editable dashboards with board PDF exports; and AI insights that already know your data. You can set the branding and labels, save segments, assign roles (viewer, roster editor, finance-only, admin), and turn feature flags on or off per workspace. Where it's weaker: VerveHQ isn't a fundraising suite. The site doesn't list donor management, website building, or a large integration marketplace, and email is basic, with volume caps.
Neon One is stronger if fundraising drives your organization. Neon CRM combines donor management, fundraising campaigns and forms, peer-to-peer, recurring gifts and DAFs, grant management, payment processing, email and text, a donor portal, and live chat, email, and phone support. Pricing starts at $99/month and is based on revenue, not record count [N2]. Neon also sells websites, volunteer, and ticketing products [N1][N2].
HubSpot is stronger for marketing and growth at scale: email, social, automation, A/B testing, SEO tools, a website builder, and 2,000+ integrations [H1]. If you already use it, keep it. VerveHQ pushes your contacts and mapped fields into HubSpot daily (one-way, matched by email), so HubSpot stays your CRM while you run the chapter's day-to-day work in VerveHQ.
When to pick something else
- Your main job is raising money from donors: Neon One. It's built around donor management and fundraising.
- You need a full marketing stack and a website on one platform: HubSpot, or Neon One with Neon Websites.
- You need a lot of off-the-shelf integrations: HubSpot's marketplace is much larger than VerveHQ's connector list.
- You want to start without a sales call: VerveHQ starts with a demo, and access is invite-only.
- You're a three-person association that mainly needs roster, attendance, guests, and dues: that's what VerveHQ is built for.
Tracking members and guests at the same event
In VerveHQ, every event keeps one list of who showed up, with members counted next to guests. You can import door scans or spreadsheets, and the SimpleTix connector sends live order and door-scan webhooks. Guests, prospects, and former members stay on file after a membership lapses, so you can see who keeps coming back and who you could win back. A typical enterprise CRM needs a custom object or a second ticketing tool to do this.
